I live in the Salt Lake City, Utah area and have a small group of my own, and we perform at one of the assisted living facilities. There is one fellow living there (who is now 98years) old that used to perform with the Sons of the Pioneers. He wasn't a 'steady' and only played when needed but has pictures to back up his claim. He spent some time working with the Grand Ole Opry. He said he went by the name of 'Smilin' Jack' and 'Rosebud'. It would be fun if someone looked him up and interviewed him. He is still very alert and clear minded and communicates very well. I can give you his contact information if you will email me at [email protected].

Imagine how good these guys sounded when the first went on air in L.A. in 1933! What a fresh bunch of guys with a new style of music. Nolan is an immortal giant amongst all composers, including classical composers.
