IMO Hines is one of the greatest greatest. Hyman doesn't get real close to what Hines could do, because he was so unpredictable in his playing.

whoa! hold on, don't you what "the shit" means? if not, it means, in your words, "one great player!" If you had read the entire post, you would have figured that out. don't think I haven't seen "sweet and lowdown," and loved the music in it, just to name one. I know his discography well. Now, I don't know much, but I do know a little something about jazz. I daresay, even if you think otherwise, that we are in agreement as to the genius of Dick Hyman!!!
