NO one ever seems to realize that the Long White Cadillac is a hearse! When I tell them that, they view the song in a whole new way.

Great vintage Yoakam. God the camera loves this man! Sounds even better than he looks and that's saying a lot.

my dad had I believe, a 1954 White Cadillac. This was of course before I was born, but I remember pictures of it. He sold it around 1962 because it used to much gas. Gas was 19 cent a gallon! I wish I had that car.

I have Dwight a few times, but recently had a chance to have front row seats to see Pete Anderson (Dwight's long time guitarist and producer) at a local venue. About 250 people there, and he and his 2 man backing band were just awesome! Got to have Pete sign all his CD's (5 of them), a playbill for my brother, and a Dwight shirt. He is a great guy, and his music of choice is Detroit Blues.

I generally don't care for Country music, mainly because the Nashville system has boiled it down to a fine tuned formula. Sure it makes a lot of money, but it's the same old thing used and re-used to the point that most of it sounds the same. However, I can't say I dislike Country because I tend to latch on to the guys and gals who strike out on their own, and there's a part of me that loves those artists and their music. Dwight Yoakam is a good example. When he was just getting started in California he opened for punk bands. From what I've read, the punks dug it. That's the sort of thing that maintains my faith in humanity.

I'll happily jam to this classic right alongside Metallica and Rob Zombie. Dwight knows how to kick ass!

I had my stereo cranked at a stop light, putting out serious vibration. The guy behind me could only hear the bass and though I was jamming hip hop so he pulled up next to me to bitch. I'll never forget his face when he heard this song and saw me......a gray haired man older than him. You could see his entire cosmos realigning.
