Such a tough song to sing. Gotta have exceptional control, which she did. Luv my girl Dusty!

How can you not dance to this song!?

You're right. Some people's "on days" aren't as good as Dusty Springfield's "off" ones, musically speaking.

Does anyone have her performance of "I Close My Eyes and Count to Ten" from this same appearance?

@elsariverakiss1- well, not only are both Bacharach/David songs, but they're both from the same Broadway musical, titled Promises, Promises. So that woulde account for them sounding somewhat alike.

@mnmcv1 i love dusty but this sounds like promises, promises,by dionne warwick, but at the same token it's understandable,,they both had the same song writer

@trschaefer- i believe this is from the Ivor Novello Awards. Someone recently posted Dusty's performance of this same song on Burt Bacharach's TV special from the same year- PLEASE check it out, as Dusty's vocal is MUCH better on it. I posted previously, i think she was having off-day here...

She screwed this one up. I love Dusty but not her best song. Helen Reddy toe this one up, you hear me??? Go watch Helen hit this one out of the park!

search Betty Buckley's version on YouTube...spectacular! (altho for me Jill O'Hara will always be the best..kinda like Dorothy Collins with "Losing My Mind")
