Initially released as the B-side in 1964, but more successful than it's A-side "Live It Up".

Me too, I've always loved that bit at 1:33 and wondered how it's humanly possible to create such a beautiful sound.

Has anyone noticed that beginning of this has the same chord progression as Alicia Keys' Fallin'? It's even in the same key! Only AK's never changes from those first 2 chords, through the whole song. Not once. No bridge or anything. Her piano part is just arpeggiated instead of the repeated chords in this one. But AK's uses pizz strings later, too. Just sayin'.

This one suits her vocal style perfectly. One of my all time favorite "Dusty moments" is at 1:33 - "Tried to be much too cool yestadaaaay." lol Lord only knows how she could make such unique and beautiful sounds (for lack of a better word). After listening to so much of this woman, I'm often disappointed with other singers' delivery. From my humble perspective, she sets the standard so high and few can reach it.

"it's too la-a-ate..." love the little run she pulls right there, and the little riffs after. this is one of the best of her early recordings...

Soulful and wistful the song typifies what I loved so much about Dusty. Very poignant, especially now ....

Written by Gary Klein//Arthur Kornfeld, recorded by Dusty in New York, September '64. Outstanding vocal, I agree.
