A great driving bass line by John Taylor.

The bassline is the main reason why I love this song so much. Having it isolated really shows how talented John Taylor is.

Sick bass line sounds really difficult and complex

Laughing at those who think there are mistakes here. This is the studio cut so it is the perfect version as is. If you don't play it like this YOU are making mistakes.

When I tell people he is a major influence for me picking up the bass they look at me like I'm nuts. Then they give him a second listen.

Thanks for uploading this! Was just driving to work this morning and they were playing the 12" version of this song on the radio which goes on for about 2 minutes before the vocals come in and you could really enjoy the bass part. It's fantastic. This upload sounds like the pitch of the bass is a bit high though?

John Taylor one of the best rock bass players of all time!!!!! Underrated.

One of my favorite bands of all time, especially the baselines, but isn't his timing off quite a bit? Is that the norm?

Outstanding line, jam-packed with ghost notes, and a great tone.

to me it feels like he is playing slightly behind the beat. And I heard some punch ins on the slap parts that should have been done better.

IMO, this is the best bass ever recorded, just draped in a mysterious vibe too, really adds to the intensity. John Taylor, I worship you!
