Dub War

DUB WAR were a HUGE and very controverse band formed by jamaican vocalist Benji Webbe in the town of Newport, South Wales in 1992.

Aiming to the unconformed Punk/Reggae crowd, they were soon to find a record deal with a small local hardcore label (Words of Warning), which led them signing with the big Earache Records! ...that seemed good but it was not! Due to their critical/lyrical unconformed attitude, a huge boicote was raised to prevent them promoting their songs!

According to Webbe, "They would not let us record and just wouldn't give us money to live on, this made us fight internally till we had no option other than to go our separate ways or kill someone or each other."

Dub War disbanded in 1998, and some years later Webbe formed Skindred. In 2002 they released its debut album, Babylon. After being reissued in 2003 by RCA Records, the album was re-released by Lava Records on August 14-2004, and again 2 more times untill 2010, even after in 2007 Skindred released its second album -Roots, Rock, Riot, and the album -Shark Bites and Dog Fights, released in September 2009.
