My great-grandparent's families buried loved ones in Ireland before some of them came over here...so yes...hard to laugh at. As for being able to guess the punchline to your query...intelligence is a benefit of having been descended from folks over in the "Land of Saints and Scholars" ;-)

If you're joking..it's pretty dark humor. You are speaking to a fourth generation Irish-American..the story of my family is still on my channel page from yesterday (St. Patrick's Day..a very solemn tradition in my family). So I will hope you have a funny punchline..we Irish-Americans love a good laugh. But I'll hazard a response: It takes NO potatoes to kill an Irishman...it was the lack of them that killed my family members prior to their ability to immigrate here. Top o' the evenin' to ya'.
