First time I heard this song was live at the Fox Theater on a 3 night stand, of which I made 2. Seems like they opened with it. Also remember Whiskey Soul Woman being brand new at the shows. Great times!

It has a huge AC/DC vibe.

This is actually a tribute to the MC5. Hence the American Ruse reference.

nice...one of the few bands I respect from that period...good lyrics, melody, kick- ass riffs...not alot of fluff and posturing like the rest of the wanna be bands in the 90's

@Shelleyinthecity, I whole heartedly disagree, not all bands fit into Heavy Metal but still appeal to fans of metal and or hard rock, here's a rock anthem just like TESLA would play, and it's not contrived either

Must have been something like 10 years since I listened to this, probably the first track I heard from the band, got me interested. Not all their material is up to the same standard, some sub-par, but the band is worth a second, third, fourth look! I dedicate this to my lost friend in ROCK, Jared Westrup, died from injuries a result of a car/train collision in 1994 I think it was. For whatever reason, hard to recall, but he and I went to see the band live at First Avenue, among many others.

Saw Drivin' N Cryin' again (8-9-2013)... this time it wasn't in Nashville, Atlanta or Birmingham it was at Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA. It doesn't happen often at live shows but I heard some new songs that have renewed my interest and I've been on iTunes getting new music from the band.

agreed .." hair band " is not one of DNC strong suits.. However great songwriting is .. The DNC Catalog is vast one day .. If we " hadve a real radio station " then maybe the world would move beyond dancing like ..." thriller " and actually play an instrument.... besides " a dancing black person wannabee
