No one has this original version of this song off of "Orchids And Ammunition". Great CD, and I'd say this is one of the better ones next to Arterial Black

Lyrics

So, stare

Look at the colors they glow so another

Can view, through the signs

Only one, way to hold it together

And time, for somebody let go

Of, the lie

Its the air I breath in

poisoning so long

It's a moment, a feeling

Where all my world's gone wrong

Its the air I breath in

Holding in so long

It's a moment, a feeling

What the hell took so long?

Waiting now

Patiently summer while fuckheads discover

Their two car garage

All I want, is a chance to discover

What else may become of this place

So designed

Its the air I breath in

poisoning so long

It's a moment, a feeling

Where all my world's gone wrong

Its the air I breath in

Holding in so long

It's a moment, a feeling

What the hell took so long?

This will be

The last time

You lie

To me

But the holding takes so long

Breathing gathers song

Songs to the result

I've been holding in so long

For one, day we

Pretend were something else

Standby a lie ( ? )

Today into the night

Throw, weave

Words that don't mean and a shout that's made into a sigh

Left to die

Its the air I breath in

poisoning so long

It's a moment, a feeling

Where all my world's gone wrong

Its the air I breath in

Holding in so long

It's a moment, a feeling

What the hell took so long?

I've been listening to old drist songs for years (always thought they were one of the best, yet most under-rated bands I'd ever heard) and for some reason I either never listened or never clued in to how amazing this particular song is. It's beautiful; I could listen to it on repeat for days.

There's another version of this song that is a little slower, and the guitar rift is pitched down. What version is that?

@Drist9900 the only good band you said was ATR... but at least you did bring up an EPIC band and not some OKAY band... Look up DreamTheater please. or Protest the Hero. Or BTBAM. or Fates Warning. Queensryche isn't my favorite but try it our anyways. Just get into the Progressive/Mathcore and you'll understand great music.

Cool. Glad you dig it. Funny thing about Science of Misuse stuff is that everyone is hearing it now, but I wrote most of that stuff 3 years ago. Musically I am in a different headspace now. So I am hoping to get to work on the next CD the beginning of 2010 and have it out by the end of 2010. We'll see. If those are your favorite bands you'll probably really enjoy the follow up to Science of Misuse. I am fusing a lot more of those influences into the music. Lots of guitar solos, double kick.etc

Some of the very early stuff was very thrashy. I grew up on old school Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera that sort of stuff. So it's definitely a part of my influence. Frankly, I don't think the song in question sounded anything like Slayer. But I guess the whole attitude and aggression was there. We just do what we do. I typically don't think much about what I am writing. Whatever comes out, comes out. The newest stuff has been much more metal oriented than Science of Misuse.

Since we formed this band in 1997 we've been compared to virtually every band under the sun. To name a few that I have heard over the years... Deftones, Tool, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Queensryche (WTF?), Metallica, Fear Factory, Slayer, Alice In Chains, Staind, Creed, etc. That was 1997-2001. Now you see comparisons to Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, Mudvayne etc. Funny thing is, while I have listened to some of those bands, only a few of those have had any influence on my playing/writing.

Now that you mention it, almost do sound like them without the screaming part. Both really good bands!
