Static Impulse 2010 - LaBrie sounds aggressive and powerful. Eden's Curse guest star, February 2011 - LaBrie using high notes more, sounds melodic and matured, absolutely wonderful. A Dramatic Turn of Events - Sings mid to low range most of the time, effects out the whazoo, holding back... What happened?

James amazingly sounds even better outside DT. I don't know, maybe he is giving more freedom to sing as he likes. For example, his work with Ayreon (Arjen Lucassen) in The Human Equation album is simply PERFECT!

K, guys, let's stop dragging DT's baggage into everything marginally related to DT. Portnoy pulled somewhat of a bitch move, he's out of the picture now but he's still doing his own fairly interesting thing by himself. It's over now, and it's no different from any other music-related drama (Read: Guns n Roses, John and Paul, etc) so let's all put on our big boy pants and get the fuck over it. I'd hate to see what happens if you guys start turning people against DT with this asinine bullshit.

@RaimondoTV The production on ADTOE is appalling. Instrumentally there is way too much post-production eq, and James is way over-compressed. In terms of actual singing, though, I think James does just as well on the new album as he does here.

Maybe before posting comments get your facts correct and stop misleading people. They will go on from strength to strength in my view. One man doesnt make a band unless your RJD or similar.
