I'm not a fan of DragonForce, but I uploaded this at the request of a friend. Therefore, I don't care about the quality or any of the comments that may appear.

The introduction screen was stretched to synchronize the audio to the video. Unfortunately, they still fall out of sync anyway.

This video differs from the original video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCGpA8OJDP4) in that I switched the original audio from the backstage camera (which horribly sucked) with higher-quality audio from a bootleg of the same show. I found the bootleg on the internet.

You can hear that Herman Li's guitar was generally not mixed high enough, and that ZP Theart's voice starts getting rough towards the end of this song despite it being the first song of the set.

Performing live and recording in the studio are two very different things, my friend.

Is it just me, or does ZP's voice seem a lot lower? I was singing higher than him. Did he have something wrong with his throat?

It plays and sounds great, man. It only has one pick-up (an EMG) so it's not got the most varied sound, but it's great for playing metal and obviously can alter your amp settings if you need many different sounds. It's very light and has a very thin neck, I guess to make it easier for him as he used to be a guitarist. Pick up is position perfectly for me to put my thumb on for finger style playing too. I'd say it was professional quality, but only for metal. not really suitable for jazz or funk!

Oh, I'm seriously digging his work on the new album. And you have one of his signature basses? How is the playability and sound on it?

Fred has improved a lot since he first joined the band. you can hear him playing unaccompanied on the Making of the Power Within Videos and it's a lot more impressive than anything he's ever previously done on bass, but I agree than Adrian is a much more accomplished bassist than Fred. Diccon Harper, who played on the firs album, was the best, though. In my opinion, at least. Also, I've got one of Fred's signature ESP basses, the FL-600, and it's fucking amazing!

@futureblade7 Oh, definitely. I actually like Sam's alternate picking technique, as it looks highly efficient, which is rather important and useful. I also enjoy his melodic sense, too; while the songs may not be too complex from a theoretical perspective, they are very infectious and powerful. However, his command over many other aspects of guitar is lacking, to say the least; for example, he absolutely cannot sweep pick.

@TheBarrelMan2 Sams one of the most unique guitarists out there i.m.o! His style is weird and his technique is crap, but thats what makes him sound good.

@420megadeth Oh, if you look at it that way, then Sam is definitely the best. He's the brain of DragonForce. If he ever leaves, it wouldn't be DragonForce anymore. I like him better than Herman as a guitarist.

@420megadeth Well, he certainly hasn't fucked up as much as Herman, Sam, Vadim, ZP, and Marc. I exclude Fred because we've already established that he's pretty much awesome, and because he always gets mixed too low.

@420megadeth Maybe, but he's also the best live player out of all of them.

@420megadeth He appears in the released 2004 performance of Valley of the Damned in Osaka, although you can't really hear him. He left the band because he was married and had a son, and he put his family above the band. And yeah, he also does look like a dork. Damn good bassist, though.

@420megadeth Adrian, for one thing, was a much more creative bassist; instead of relying mostly on root notes as Fred does, he actually wrote some fairly interesting bass lines. Additionally, he had a much more extensive knowledge of bass technique than Fred does - he utilized three finger picking (that's right, no plectrum), tapping, and slapping. He was just a better bassist all around. Don't get me wrong, though. Fred is still very good. He's just more of a guitarist, that's all.
