Dr Feelgood *was* a brilliant band...they had remarkable talent in all four members, even as they approached 1994. Now Steve, Phil and Kevin are the talented guys, and Robert Kane is some useless "singer".

Credited to Vic Maile[1], but I don't imagine for a second it was a solo producer effort. I suspect you know a damn sight more than I though ;-) This is one of those tunes which seems to hit its stride just as it fades out. Backtotheblues is another who loves the way it develops. Of course ! I think Nick Lowe also produced this LP, and helped them through difficult times when Wilko left ....

To me, matters not who wrote the lyrics. I still like it. Nowt wrong with a bit of Nick anyway.

If I had to pick one track from this album to use as a showcase for just how fecking good they really were both as a band and as individuals, it'd probably be this. Yes, I can imagine Norman weaving in and out of this bass line. Mmmm. NW-R tastybass. Nice thought if Wilko played this live ( Please ). When the cymbals pick up around 3:50.. How to write + play cracking tunes is all here.

I agree! I think this is one of the best tracks from the band. Great guitarwork from Wilko but nobody can sing this like Lee Brilleaux!

Thanks for this one! Wilko's guitar sounds great here, the double snare beat from Big Figure on the 4th beat locks in perfectly with the guitar riff, underpinned by a brilliant, melodic and offbeat bass line from John B. Sparks, and topped by a great vocal from Lee! I've always loved the way it stretches out toward the end too - the cymbal work Figure brings in there, love it. I really don't know why Wilko doesn't do this one live - imagine what Norman could do with that bass line!
