when i heard 2001 i had just gotten out of a nearly all-white grade school and i was still the stereotypical goody-goody white kid thinking rap was "just black people saying 'the n word' over and over!"...it seriously opened my mind and hearing hittman fucking blew me away. at the time i couldn't possibly imagine how you could write something with such rhythmic complexity and remember it. "light speed" is still a track i show to all my friends...his verse on that is fucking stunning.

What the fuck.... With detox never coming out, dre needs to release those beats for other artists, a lot of people losing respect for dre and detox...

This dude needs a real deal - Fire!!! He almost carried the 2001 album. Lyrically top notch, just needs a team behind him. DMV-4-Life

I agree, and I love what's the difference, but I only have to hear a Dre tune three times to have listened the shit out of it - not exactly on the John Scofield level of analysis, you feel me? So it ain't overhearing or putting down Dre or nothing, I'm just sayin' hitt sounds damn good, clever over-the-bar phrases and lead-ins to rhyme schemes, and I want more. But Dre knew where the money was when he chose to put eminem up instead... Triple Platinum, doin' fifty a week... Ida done the same.
