There are many great guitar players but Doyle is a guitar virtuoso. I (have 2)(had 2) 4 Taylor, all are signed by him so just maybe I'll play better after he touched it:-)..... The story way back then was.....when Doyle visited the Taylor factory as a regular plant tour, he picked up a guitar at the end of the daily tour and started playing.....everyone at Taylor stopped working and listened...thus he became a Taylor clinician. He is a big loss for Taylor as he was a great ambassador for them.

I admire Doyle a great deal, as a guitarist and as a very gentle man. He is genuine and has a very good heart. As a player he has no equal as far as I'm concerned.

Taylor cancelled all their traveling guitar workshops sometime ago as they got big and need to sell more guitars. the new workshops are not like the old where you get to listen to the artist play. Now its more sales and marketing oriented . Bob T. used to call all the shots but no longer as you pointed out. Very sad news of Doyle left Taylor as he has done so much "marketing" by playing for them for so many years. He is one of the very best, a national treasure indeed.

I don't know why, or even if, Taylor Guitars caused Doyle to leave the company but if they did, it was a stupid decision to do so. This man is the one of the best guitarist ever. I have seen more than a few great pickers, but this man is the only one that ever astonished me with his skill.
