Thank you for this one, George. The first time I saw you play this song it was in Richmond--New Years Eve, think you were opening for Carbon Leaf, but you were so awesome, I am not sure who the other band was. Anyway, it was just you and your guitar--no band--and you absolutely blew me away with Downriver! It is even better with the full band!

I believe it was 2008 at the Canal Club in Richmond, VA when you opened for Sara Bareilles that I first heard this song. During this song the crowd was dead quiet...the where-you-could-hear-a-pin-drop kinda quiet. It was & still is an amazing song to me. The chords and words are so captivating. Every time I hear it, I know I'm in for a binge-repeat session.
