Remember Doug Sheldon from 60s and did have a few of his vinyl 45s in my collection,as with most uk artists of the time they did cover USA recordings, some good, some not so good",i do like Dougs though!,Robert Plant lives in my town and did a creditable cover of this song too!.

Doug Sheldon did indeed do a cover ( a noble effort too,) most new singers of that era made covers of U S hits,as good British songs of the time weren't that hip..... they tried TOO hard to be, that was the problem. Old men trying to write young songs does not work. A great cover of this one however is by Robert Plant , a moodier version. I still love this version though.

Bits and Pieces - of course! It was bugging me as I couldn't think what it reminded me of :D

This is new to me as well. I came across it because it is widely thought of, as being an influence for the Dave Clark Five. I can certainly hear 'Bits & Pieces' & a similar style drumming in it. I liked Doug Sheldon & his records, but this one as I said is new to me as well.

I'll admit, this was "new" to me, but you've done another great job once again on coaxing stereo out of Decca's mono. Arranged by Lord Rockingham, I see. Isn't Doug the guy who covered Dion's "Runaround Sue"?
