kiss has passed the test of time. I had to fight against my best friends since i was 14, because i liked kiss, But in the end i was right, they are superstars. i actually met paul stanley, he s very nice. And in concert they are professionals. Doro is great, too.

Gene does say in Behind The Mask that Doro recorded the "original version" of this song, but it appears he's referring to the arrangement. Ezrin put part of a different song in the middle of Only You. Doro's verison has no "In every age, in every time" stuff in it. That's where the difference lies, but probably not with any real lyrical content being radically changed.

Not so. There's absolutely no mention of Only You being a song Gene worte when he was younger in KISS: Behind The Mask. Gene does mention he had a day off in Cleveland, went into a studio and "wrote it on the spot." This is something that could only have happened after KISS hit the big time, not in the early 70's at all. As for being an "acknolwedged and accepted fact", I call bullshit. If you quote a source, at least quote it correctly. See Pages 342-343 of Behind The Mask for details.

I agree, but someplace else in this thread it was mentioned by someone the song was written in the early 70's. That's most likely a load of hogwash.
