Here's Doris singing and tap-dancing her way through George Gershwin's "Somebody Loves Me." The lyrics are by Ballard MacDonald and B. G. De Sylva. Performing the tune with Doris is Gene Nelson. The scene is from the 1951 film Lullaby of Broadway.

tamara simple said "....and Gene Nelson could sing too! Hard to believe he is Curly from Oklahoma!.". That's because he wasn't Curly. He was Will Parker.

Excellent for a gal who, after nearly losing a leg, gave up dancing in her youth!

I miss Gene Nelson's sublime leap onto the piano top - it must be another song but I could swear it was here.

Oh my. The great Doris Day could dance, too! And her established dance partner Gene Nelson also did the "Kansas City" dance number in the movie "Oklahoma." Which I did as well a long time ago in a somewhat smaller production.

"You are not authorized to open this file." is all I get when trying to watch a Doris Day video? Strange. Only on an iPhone, maybe.

The first time I heard music like this I was fighting off super mutants. Now I can't get enough it seems.

Love this scene, Doris really shows off her singing and dancing especially in this film, absolutly love it! people do not sing or dance like this anymore or ever will again sadly :( Doris Day will always be unique, nobody can match that voice, and Gene Nelson is an awesome dancer!
