We used to have this thing in the afternoon on TV called movies in the afternoon (or something like it) instead of talk shows or other stuff we have on today. In the summer when it would get too hot at certain times of the day, we were able to come indoors and I'd watch those movies. They'd have weeks of certain stars, so I'd see Elvis, Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, and many more and of course the fabulous Doris Day. I also received an LP of her movie hits with children singing with her, and then I wanted to have more of her music. I don't think I was more than 10 years old when I discovered Doris Day and have been a fan of hers for all my life now (so that makes 45 years a fan). She is still tops when it comes to comediennes, actress, and singer in my book!

I saw a 2 year old comment from Trina Gosney who was 15 at the time she made the comment below. I am so proud to know that at least one someone in this new young generation can appreciate real, true, beautiful music and the talent of someone as wonderful as Doris Day. When I was 15, and since, kids were turning away from Big Band music and classics such as "Fools Rush In" but my parents always played the likes of Sinatra, Crosby, Mathis, Cole, Perry Como, Billy Holiday, Pearl Bailey, the Ray Coniff Orchestra, etc., etc., etc., so these are my first loves in music. I am so happy to be able to find this music here on YouTube. Thanks so much for sharing. Now if I could only find copies of all those old movies... :-)
