War Plan Orange I feel proved to be correct as a template for strategies for war with Japan but there were Generals (mainly McAuther) that probably drug the War out longer,this was McAuthers plan ( among many,example: his desire to attack Raubaul head on with ground troops early in the war) and follow up of the Philippines Operations witch had little to do with strangling Japans means of continuing offensive warfare..McAuthers need to glorify himself and at times a lack of strategy and common sense even basic tactics distracted from the main goal of defeating Japan as soon as possible and with the least amount of human expenditure. These are my views and mine alone, however I can list historical records and the views of those in position to witness these things first hand if someone wishes to explore for themselves...thank you
