This had to be the song of the week when I head it by listening to my Temptations box set. The lyrics of "Don't Let the Joneses Get You Down" struck me because we can often get so caught up in what everyone else is doing that we forget about our path. The song was originally released on the Puzzle People album in 1969. It has a funk and psychedelic soul track. "Don't Let the Joneses Get You Down" was written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong. I hope you like my version.

Don't mind that old guy. This old guy (57) thinks old songs need to be reinterpreted for new generations. Don't let the MrRemotens get you down!

I'm sorry, I almost forgot; I'm 62 years old and lived through the struggle this song is about. And just like then; people today still think the only they can be somebody is to make a down payment on something they know they'll only have for a short time because they can't make the payments.

Young lady; after viewing your version of a song I love to sing and hear as a reminder of truth, I've come to the conclusion that you don't have the slightest idea about the orign of the words nor the struggle from whence it came. This song is meant to sound forceful and rough as a message to people who think they have to plunge themselves into debt trying to impress other people with new things they really can't afford. Theres nothing sexy, sweet or cute about it.
