50 years after that first trip across the country (1935) to California and the birth of swing and BG still looks and plays great.

Benny Goodman alone on UTube is reason enough to have a computer at any price.

louis bellson was terrific and also a very nice man....one of benny's many tunes from the goodman 'book'-he has to be remembering back to the old days & is getting a genuine kick out of seeing people enjoying the music & dancing....

Sensacional! The great Benny, first heard him about '59 when a friend of mine gave me Benny at Carnegie Hall, played it to destruction, bought it again LP style, still have it, then, the holy of holys, Benny's attic find of the original, non-edited full concert, Jesus, a dead sea scrolls equivalent, if you are reading this then you are a fan of music, real music, unfortunately I have lost my e-mail connection so. sorry if I do not reply

Louis Bellson must always always be included in any discussion of great Jazz drummers ! He invented the double bass drum while with Duke Ellington's orchestra.

I just had to comment on your remarks. I laughed like the devil, because as good as Benny Goodman is in this video, you're right, the video portion of the audience at some points is not so hot. That the cameraman was cleaning his lens with butter is an apt and funny description of what he might have been doing. Thanks for the laugh.

Cameraman filming the audience must've been cleaning his lens with butter. Maybe they really look that way
