I just realized how much Ween's song "The Mollusk" is inspired by this song and others on this album.

Was lucky enough to meet and play with Donovan in Ireland, I met Derrol in Denmark. A great guy, always ready to help out a bad guitarist!

Donovan's best song and yet it never appears on his albums. Such a shame.Thank you uploader. Thank you.p.s. I hate the song Epistle to Dippy because the title is too close and it's like a slap in the face. I can NEVER find this song.

It's so beautiful and healing to hear this again after so many years. Donovan is an angel.

I first sang this in the Arbroath Folk Club in the late 60s. Goodness only knows how bad I was then. I have revived my performance of it recently and hope (truly believe) I do it justice now.It is a lovely, whimsical song which starts me dreaming of how my childhood was on the seashores of Devon and Dorset.

Donovan is so awesome. I saw him in 1968 or so at SMU McFarlin Auditorium. He sat on a persian rug with just an acoustic guitar and blew away the entire hall. He mesmerized the audience. He killed that night. One of the best concerts I have ever been to and I have been to many. I will never forget that evening. Highly underrated. The album From a Flower to a Garden is my absolute favorite album of his.

Love this song. Paralysed at 15 (1965), I used music to reroute over the damage.. 62 now, got my education, loved a career of over 20 years, still dancing to the earworms that got caught up in healing my brain... Can't thank you enough for uploading this amazing song....

To scarletbegonia3...thank you for this great post!!! My favorite, to be sure, since it came out in '67. We all saw him at the Hollywood Bowl in October '68 AND October '69. I saw him again about ten years ago at the Ventura Theatre...he was just as good then as he was at The Bowl. I'll never forget him as he sat on a carpet in front of 17,000 appreciative fans. I was 19 years old and headed to Vietnam as an infantryman one week from the '68 concert. Talk about a CONTRADICTION!?!

From the good old days. One of the best songs ever made. But what is Donovan doing now ? I miss new songs from him. The latest I have is " Sutras" from 1996.

Donovan was the best. Still is. "Gladly would I come Gladly would I go', had I not my work to do, and my face to show..." "Whistling winds they filled my dreams, in my dreaming bed".
