Personal Note: I just want to thank Allah (God) for this video. It's kinda a silly story but... Something wasnt working when I was trying to make this video, I was so frustrated! I thought about praying to God, but then thought praying over a stupid little video was silly. But I finally did say a little prayer for help. And right after, a thought came into my mind. And here's the video! So always go to God! even for the small stupid little things! lol.

As most of the commenters have stated, each version evokes a distinct emotion. I love Donnie's version and I love Stevie's version-equally. Moreover, I would love to hear a version of this song done by B.Slade and Johnny Gill. Both singers are known for their vocal gymnastics, so it might be surprising to hear each undertake the lyrical complexity of the song while keeping the bombasticim (is that even a word?) to a minimum.8 years ago

Wow!!!! I had never heard this song performed by Donnie Hathaway and yes he did out do Stevie the Wonderful on this one. I had to look up to see who was singing this song I thought it was his daughter singing; I had to ask myself DAM is she channeling his voice? They sound soooo much alike it is just amazing. I would like to see her use the technology and sing this song with her dad. Wow amazing. Thank you for turning me on to this one I was asleep on this one.8 years ago

Donny Hathaway makes it hard to listen to other singers man. Once you hear this tone, purity of tone, modulation only when absolutely appropriate, perfect pitch, grandiose simplicity, all encompassing emotion... nothing else can quite get there.8 years ago
