Its easy to fail in such settings. Only great song writers like Donald can pull this off. The delicious hook in just the right place to lift the moment. This CD is up there with two against nature. Not easy to maintain. The powerful players really put the juice to the tunes. I hope another CD is underway right now!

No surprise Fagen is acknowledged by R and B aficionados. His work (esp. that with Stelly Dan) always had a taste of urban flavor. The only other artists I can think of offhand that so seamlessly blend jazz/blues/r and b/ reggae are George Duke, Frank Zappa.

so many comments here about who's playing, what they are playing, who should be playing, etc... none of this stuff needs your approval. how do you feel about the sunshine today? too bright? not as bright as last thursday? your ignorance/naivety is showing.

Dunno kids, this is my favorite from the album.

One of the best songs on the album.....but Kurt Rosenwinkel was the wrong choice for guitar. He doesnt have the feel for anything that is even slightly funky and seems more concerned with jamming in as many notes as possible. John Scofield would've been a much better choice.
