Sad, his voice has gone reedy, he cant hold a note, and really doesn't do justice to his songs anymore.

Did you know the hit song from Roberta Flack "Killing me softly" was written about a girl who came to see Don McClean perform and then went home and wrote 'killing me softly' after being so touched by his music.

Really impressive. Amazing to see Don McLean with gray hair, loose skin, all those hallmarks of aging, and then hear him singing Vincent - if you close your eyes, you'd swear he is 25 again. Quite an inspiration.

There is still good music today, the problem is it gets no exposure. My friend has a band who are great, but they play gigs to tiny groups of people, they never get paid even when they play bigger venues, they get ignored by the few record companies that still exist, even the indie labels, and social media and the internet does absolutely nothing to help them despite what people say about it being the saviour. Music seems so bad today because the only people who make it are Justin Beiber types who aren't even musicians at all. And it's catch 22 because the terrible state of music has made people with taste just give up all together, they listen to their dad's old records but they don't go to gigs and they don't know where to find new musicians. So the only people who actually buy music are kids and their relatives buying the next big disney club manufactured pop person. Those kids have absolutely no idea what music used to be like, nor do they care. So the real musicians don't sell because they don't get exposed, and the record companies see that as a sign they aren't profitable so only stick to disposable pop.

Still very good after after all these years. He's playing a Martin D28 on this show and mostly he's with his Martin D45 all the time. Amazing,,, just very amazing.

"The songs had melodies" Actually music really has gone downhill the last 14 years.

-And Socrates complained about "those kids and their modern music - all that "harmony" nonsense. In my day, we played and sang just the melody - now THAT was real music!"
