This song makes me think of my father... He was fantastic when I was a child. He's the reason I started loving The Cranberries at age 10 (I'm nearly 29 now). Sadly, he changed over the years. He went from my hero to someone out of touch with reality. Beautiful, but sad song.

@tomcat13claws An acoustic guitar would have actually taken all the feeling that Dolores has intended for this song to have. But then I understand that the idea of whether musical instruments give or take feeling away may be purelly subjective.

@alik202 I think it's pretty obvious. She's singing to some runner from life, who rejected the world for some reason(s). She's trying to convince him that's it's no solution, cos tremendous pain we're going through is not outside, but inside us.
