Dolly wrote this under a different title originally for The Best Little Whore house in Texas. It had the title A Cow boy's Ways,' and was sung by Burt Reynolds. But it didn't make the final cut. Dolly redid it later and also used it in The Dolly Show under the new title. It is a really excellent song. You can still catch Burt's version on youtube. Though cut from the movie, the clip exists.

Love this song! Always one of my favorites. Burlap & Satin is my favorite Dolly album. This song was written for The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas but was never used in the film. Dolly liked the song so much she included it on Burlap & Satin. So beautifully written and performed. Breaks my heart.
