Russell's episode Midnight was one of those taut psychological thrillers that, like Hitchcock's Rope felt as if it had been shot in one take. The score opened up suspiciously jolly before diving into a sea of clashing tonalities, impermanent resolves and bruising brass and percussion. I have to admit, I had lots of fun on this episode. There are usually two or three scores each year I would like to release separately and this was one of them. - Murray Gold
