Before Boy George or Rupaul, there was Sylvester! Sylvester was not only a cross-dressing artist, but a VERY talented one. This is one of his biggest club hits in the 80s. It's also probably my favorite track of his. This is also one of my favorite dance hits of all-time. Great, great tune! RIP Sylvester :-(

I ran into Sylvester one Sunday late afternoon at Keller's, here in nyc, when the sun was pouring through those windows in the front out onto the pool table. Just hanging out digging it, Keller's had a damn good jukebox. He was so at ease. He was very comfortable smiling and gracious with his hello's. I hope he did not have to use those bathrooms.

never figured out, why Prince has never paid homage to Sylvester....Sylvester's influence is wayyyy to apparent in Prince's music, and even his style to some degree...especially, in the old days, when Prince was wearing thigh high boots, black laced gloves and a fuckin thong. Just sayin...

Yes, this was the song that brought it all together when I snuck into the back door at 18 into my 1st gay bar with my friends in tow in Pomona, CA - Alabi East back in 1982

The song that launched new wave synth music.... this is bad ass... the synths were cutting edge of its time so was production and effects sylvester sang it..but the real brilliance behind it was Patrick cowley...He's up there with Giorgio moroder in my book... before this bass and guitar disco was popular...although I love that stuff and heard it as a little boy on soul train... when this hit it blew everything apart... rip Patrick cowley...you changed the musical world and left us too soon.

Right from the off, this song grabs you by the balls and drags you to the dancefloor. The genius of Patrick Cowley and the pure force of nature that was Sylvester. Still shocked at the poor(ish) chart stats for this upon its release, but am sure over time it has sold by the shed load. A song that has staying power, and real power at that.
