Some people think DMX is just loud and noise, but if you listen carefully, he is excellent at using pauses, rests, and stops/starts in his rhythm. It's impeccable actually. It's like noobie jazz players, they usually just play long runs of 1/8th notes, but the older more masterful players can use spaces and syncopation. No one's delivery is quite like DMX's.
