The sounds of toys remain the same, but the crucial modification done is soldering the output so that it goes to an output jack instead of the crappy built-in speaker. It's a simple mod, but the genius comes in being able to mix little kid toy sounds to something that sounds funky and using the toy as a live instrument instead of just recording the sounds into a sampler.
