This is Ira Tucker and James Walker at their best. They were so united that it was sometimes hard to know who was singing. I saw them in the fifties with Sam Cooke and the Soul Stirrers and on the song, "Lets Go Out to the Program" where the 'Birds imitate other groups, Ira imitated Sam Cooke and even Cooke was impressed. I talked with Ira a few times and he was so very down to earth. I saw them in Norfolk and Suffolk, VA. Ira even gave me his address and telephone number if I wanted to just call and talk. What a great man. In Norfolk I took my daughter who was about twelve, and James Walker told her just how pretty she was. Those men had class. Two of my daughters have met the "Birds" one even featured their musical history on a Black History program at church.
