DIvine was the name of an R&B-based 3-girl group who is best known for its 1998 Billboard Hot 100 number-one single Lately. Group members include Kia Thornton, Nikki Bratcher and Tonia Tash. All three women were teenagers when they were recruited by Pendulum Records owner Ruben Rodrigez.

Lately was released as the group's debut single and quickly became a hit. It debuted on the U.S. pop chart at number thirty-six and eventually hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in November of that year. The single was certified platinum for sales of over 1 million units in the U.S. Lately was the last song to top the Hot 100 before Billboard magazine changed its policty to allow airplay-only tracks to enter the chart and was the first #1 by a girl group since the Spice Girls.
