For those of you who think this song is about abortion it is not I've read the meaning behind the song and David had gotten a previous girlfriend pregnant and she miscarried at the end of the first trimester. I cried when I listened to this song after I knew what it meant I love this

in this song especially in the later parts i can hear such a strong grief from David, the way he shouts near the 3 minute mark to me has always sounded like a cry of sorrow, a sound a father would make as he watches the heartbeat flat-line, its this emotion that really allows this song to hit incredibly hard with immense emotional messaging,

Omfg this is the saddest, most emotional song I've ever heard in my opinion. I love shit like this. I'm crying now cause I looked up the meaning and I listened to it a second time and I understood every word. In my opinion, probably one of the saddest metal songs ever written.
