It really depends on what you buy. If you buy a CD in a plastic jewel case with no artwork other than the cover, well, yeah, you're blowing your money on plastic crap. I go for special editions myself. Like Black Sabbath's Black Box, or stuff like that. Now that's beautiful stuff.
