I don't listen to much foreign music besides eastern European bands as I like metal. Still, I picked this CD up on a whim while browsing a music store due to it's cover art alone (naive I know lol) but was pleasantly surprised. I'd almost this in the same genre as brilliant bands like Agalloch (Hallways of Enchanted Ebony), mid-career Dream Theater, even Santana if that makes sense. It's very Progressive but has almost folk undertones and the depth the album has is extraordinary and it makes you feel like your in some sort of post-apocalyptic city with ash falling from the sky or lost in a dungeon with no hope of escape and you can see moving shadows in the distance waiting to consume you.

You do know that "toguro" is an actual word right? More than one band can make a song with the same name. Both songs have just about nothing to do with each other otherwise.

Well at least this way they change things up and are experimenting, and that's something I'v always enjoyed about Dir En Grey is how different a lot of their music. They can go from a very intense and odd feel to a softer, ethereal song. They have always displayed this freedom to play something interesting and often unexpected.

A pattern of being random and different is the best

I agree there. If people want more CD's like gauze, just look at any old vk-band, since that's how they sounded. I'd recommend Romance of Scarlet by Kuroyume, since that was one of the biggest influences on gauze. Heck, they even borrowed a few parts for song like Cage and mazohyst of decadence.

Toguro by The GazettE is far better?? These songs are too different ! I love The GazettE but you can't compare these two bands, they're not the same at all! And then, did you open this video just to say that GazettE's Toguro is better than Dir en grey's one? Get the fuck out of here..."-.-

Hahaha, a similar thought randomly popped into my head when I first saw this song's title. I didn't wonder if the song was about that character, but an image of him did come to mind.

Dumb question but is this song about Toguro from Yu Yu Hakusho? Because that would be awesome.
