Kyo is quite the opposite of other vocalists. Every time he fucks up his chords he just finds a new(and usually more harmful) vocal technique to add to his arsenal.

The one thing I like about DIR EN GREY is that Kyo is always sharp and even though he messed up his vocal folds a few times, he hasn't changed his style unlike some other vocalists that change their whole technique by saying they just "evolved" and became more "mature" just to justify they're scared to mess with their vocal folds again.

One reason Kyo tends to slur his words is because he has a thick Kyoto accent. He slurs his words when he does cleans and speaks as well, it's just less noticeable if you don't speak/understand Japanese.

Also during the really fast paced vocal parts, like in Zan where sometimes he can't actuallykeep up with himself and ends up slurring words and missing out letters. Very noticeable on the b-side live recording of ASOM when kyo just goes "I rape y-uuuuarargh".
