If, you listen to the words of this song and no one I mean no one sings this song like Dionne Warwick. "Everyone enters this world with innocent and as we all grow into adulthood somewhere somehow we lose that innocents which, we all try and spend the rest of our trying to regain innocent lost'

This classy GRoovy lady had a #2 hit in 1968 with this one; perhaps a little movie helped? Dionne Warwick - Valley Of The Dolls

How will I think of my name..there's nothing left to say anymore..no one understands me..no one ever did..my own mama never understood me..didn't ever think I could be trusted to hold a baby..said I might drop it on its head...did she really think I was that wreckless and careless...shaking my head

He was, I grew up knowing all kinds of wonderful people because he didn't have a prejudice bone in his body and he made sure his children loved people for who they were, not how much money they made, the color of their skin, how they dressed, what kind of car they drove etc... And more than anything, God given talent is a thing to be appreciated!

You are so right, talent comes forth in so many kinds of people and God has given talent to all his children. I remember being in bed sleeping and my father used to get us kids up in the middle of the night to see Louis Armstrong playing his horn. He said kids, you are looking at history, you are looking at the greatest horn player in the world. Of course my mother wasn't too happy at it at times with him waking us up, but I grew up in the 60's respecting these fine Artists.

I'm old enough to where I had most of the 45's of the 60's and 70's. I sincerely wish I would have kept them. I miss them all, and the music back then was way better than it is now, any day of the week!

I should have known who did this fine song, grew up knowing the finest. I didn't know Dionne did this song. I'm glad I know now, and not surprised. She was always so exceptional, so talented. She always sung so natural and strong, like she never had to work at it, like it was no big effort. But that's how the great ones always sing.

Can Neely come out and play? This theme almost made it to #1 early in '68 and was the flip side of "I Say A Little Prayer".
