This REEKS King Crimson, oozing its slippery, poisonous astral matter.

Always thought 'Strange Highways' and 'Angry Machines' were great albums, and cannot understand the negative reaction towards them. Know all about the comment's made about Tracy G, saying he was garbage live, but the performance on these albums is second to none. I also don't get the fact that Ronnie slags them off also, because I think he should have been proud of them, and they stand proudly with the rest of his catalogue. Just my opinion, and there you have it!

Dio's years with Sabbath show in the riffs of this slow and oh-so heavy song. And what made Dio so cool was that he was able to inject the Sabbath-era sound without allowing it to take over the whole song. allowing both styles to merge and make something already great sound even better! Hell, Dio could do ANYTHING and make it sound good!

Excellent harmonies! Then again, Dio always had excellent harmonies.

I never knew about this record. Very bold and experimental tune.

Rubbish or not I love it too.The atmosphere and dissonant riffs on the end recalls me of Voivod.

This album is definitely harder to get into than anything else Dio ever put out, Strange Highways included. But the way they portray uncomfortable truth, personal trauma, mankind's road to doom and sheer insanity on one single compact disk while still providing a positive message in the end is something to admire.

I feel the same way about Holy Diver..it is a very hard song to sing..like many of his songs..this is why there will only be one...DIO!!!

Well.. many People say that Ronnie hated this and Strange Highways, but in the booklet of "The Collection" is written:"The things that came after Strange Highways were the absolutly worst rubbish I've ever involved with in." - so he hated Angry Machines. Otherwise he said, that Angry Machines & Strange Highways were made for young Musicans, giving them hope to make music, but.. who the fuck cares? I love EVERY Dio Album, so I don't give a shit what other people say about those albums :D

You know what I just noticed? The beginning lyrics: "All you see down there...could be Yours for the taking." Isn't that what the Devil tried to bribe Jesus with in the Bible? Makes you wonder if this song is supposed to be Jesus telling the Devil to leave him alone/stay out of his mind.
