I valzer op. 34 di Chopin, sono tra i più riusciti. Quello in mi bemolle maggiore qui eseguito magistralmente da Lipatti, è il più viennese, forse in omaggio al vecchio J. Strauss.Le esecuzioni di A. B. Michelangeli, Backhaus e Arthur Rubinstein sono pure degne di attenzione, ricche di idee musicali.

This is not the best Chopin. It's within the traditinal style, but he plays it in a popular style!!

You can't have out of tune perfect pitch, unless you are an arsehole in which case such a comment would be plausible.

@markarama23 Thank you for the piano number. 299 is very low. At this Time, for a Pianist, a Steinway was a very personal thing. For example the Steinway of Edwin Fisher is by the family of a pupils.

Yes and no. Dinu Lipatti recorded 14 valses in Genava in 1950. This One is recorded in London in 1947 at Abbey Road Studio. The piano must be a very good Steinway B 211. A rare recording.

Shame recording is so out of tune...however, this is from the greatest performance of the waltzes on record imo.
