well religion in western europe quite insignificant these days. i live in the Netherlands there are barely any problems with religion.

It isn't about defending or attacking Christianity. Black metal itself isn't anti-Christian or even anti-anything. There's Christian (un)black metal bands out there like Admonish, Drottnar, etc. Don't get me wrong, the lyrics contribute a lot to a song on an individual basis, but they don't make or break the genre. I mean there's death metal bands that denounce Christianity too, as well as Christian death metal bands. So you can find both in almost any genre of metal out there.

True. But lots of people defend christianity so i dont think i jump on a bandwagon.I always thought black metal is simple heavy metal with heavily themed lyrics about religion coined by Venom (their album black metal). So i dont think im an ignorant ass because that.

There's actually a few places Christianity has been relatively insignificant. Mainland China and North Korea are two examples I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe you shouldn't jump on the bandwagon so soon.

he has the most striking voice doesn't he?! It hits me like a ton of bricks every time. It makes me teary-eyed from how beautiful the entire song composed! I never thought black metal could do that until I discovered Dimmu Borgir!

your response makes sense initially...but really it doesnt. The guy had a great question. If you listen to Dimmu a lot like me, youd know their lyrics are on a world view. It's no secret anti religion=anti Christianity. It's like that here in America..huge. Not anti Buhddism or Islam or Judaism
