Sounds very good. Much better than the VH4. Still one of diezel's less succesfull amps.

o i am using the diezel Hagen with a vh4 and a Marshall 9200 mono block and jmp1 preamp any ideas i want the punch tight without too much fizz

well my wife said if i give up my expensive scotch whiskey habit i can buy a diezel. its a hell of a sacrifice but i think i'll be happier in the end! :) thanks for the input man!

there's not a lot of diff in their metal tones....and you forgot the VH-4 and the D-moll....all are just crushing amps in their own right and not that far away from one another in tone..GOT CASH?? lol!! thats one thing they share also$...lol

hard to beat a DIEZEL for metal. that tone is just un "fukin'" stoppable. mids aren't harsh, but cut thru great. i would say they're worth their weight in gold, but they actually are that expensive!!! ha ha ha

So it's not just me. I have the same problem with Mesa amps as i do with Diezel. To me the open notes are a little too fuzzy for me but i think the mutes sound amaaaazing. I've only ever played the dual rectifier and vh4's in a shop though. I'm sure if I owned one, and had more time with it I'd be able to come up with a better tone. The Diezel killed the Mesa imo though.
