Charted at #28 on Billboard Hot 100 in February 1958 and #8 on R&B chart. The biggest hit for this group. The lead singer, Dicky Doo, is really Gerry Granahan. Original Billboard review: "Rockabilly tells the tale of a cat returning to his true love. Peppy rendition with good backing makes for a salable sound." Written by Lee, Grant and Doo. B-side is "Did You Cry?".

On this day in 1958 {January 13th} Dickie Doo & the Don'ts performed "Click-Clack" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'... One month later on February 10th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #28 and spent 14 weeks on the Top 100... The song was the first charted hit on the Swan Record label; later acts included The Beatles, The Rockin' Rebels, Freddy Cannon, Link Wray, Billie & Lillie, and Danny & the Juniors... R.I.P. Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012}

How about this. On a Cheech and Chong record, Cheech requests this song on a DJ show. I didn't even think it was a real song. Live and learn, they say. That part leads into the song "Framed," but I forget which album that was on. I was a big Cheech and Chong fan in my teens and twenties.
