I saw them around 85-6 at Maxwells in NJ. I had a 90 minute bright red cassette of the Dickies and I loved them! I had a broken foot and stood in front of the stage watching them set up. One of the guys (not LGP) kept eyeing me. When they started he ran over to me, yanked me on stage, threw my crutches behind his amp...just in time- the whole room went wild with thrashing and moshing. I was a kid. I had no clue. I saw the Dickies in LA, at the Roxy, about that time. I got sprinkled in blood, from all the craziness coming from up front! You didn't think about that blood and spit thing so much, back then.. And yes, it's obvious that Greenday was very much influenced by The Dickies. Fun times back then..

you forgot one thing: 5. Green Day were holding their little dickies when the Dickies came out. Saw Dickies 7/7/84 at CBGB's NYC and interviewed Stan and Len in an alley way with explosions going off - what a trip !

ok, a couple things. 1. greenday sucks ass 2. green day isnt punk 3. the dickies were from the original punk era(greenday was in diapers) 4. the dickies are extremely unique, i dont see how you can compare them

i found a Dickies album in a waste skip when i was 15,it was yellow vinyl and warped,but it still played.had a great version of paranoid on it.
