This is a terrific song and an impeccable performance. Some on this entry say they would prefer a music video. I would not. Music videos are gimmicky -- films, whether long or short, showcase the talents of the director. This is a performance by a great musical artist. As it should be, the attention is directed at the artist. Part of it is generational, and my opinions were shaped in an era when artists sang songs without endless edits, crosscuts and other distractions. Young people should feel free to simply disregard my opinion because I am old (63). But. at the same time, I do not believe that it is an accident that stars like Ms. Ross, labels and producers in my youth relased far better music than is produced today. The videos need to be clever and flashy now, to prevent viewers from noticing that much of the music is derivative and second rate.
