Old - (lyrics from CD)

Old have memories to keep all cold away,

What is that you say?

No sense to dwell.

Old, are you ridiculed and turned away,

No attention paid?

I thought as much. Yes and the dumb patriots have their say,

Only see their way.

Nothing to sell.

And worse from us, so obvious,

Preposterous, when you think of the time that each has spent.

Words heaven sent and truly meant to show

Old, may I sit down here and learn today?

I'll hear all you say.

Won't go away.

I've said it a thousand times--this is the most underappreciated album of my lifetime.

They played the Pavillion in Glasgow this tour. Across from the legendary Apollo and better known for hypnotists and pantomimes. But, the acoustics in a classic 19th century theatre were superb. Kev knew. We were in the bar. Heard this. Thanked barman for putting it on. "That's the band guys, they've opened with this." We left our pints and ran. That's how good Dexy's will always be.

Sometimes when I'm suffering from a bout of depression and the Black Dog is growling behind the door, when the sun has gone behind a cloud and life seems pointless, i can stick this album on and there is a glimmer of hope. Thank you Kevin Rowland.

Simply gorgeous and heartbreaking at the same time. That opening fiddle sets the tone perfectly, right before Kevin starts his magnificent vocals.

Benjamin Lo-Fi

the late Benjamin Lo-Fi is enjoying this so much he's almost dancing in his casket, even though there is clearly a lack of space, and general ambience...

Great songs, a unique sound, it could only be Dexy's. Hope life is treating Kevin well as he's given so many people so much enjoyment through his music he deserves a great life.
