I thought this song ROCKED when it came out. It just wasn't standard Motown fare, so it didn't get promoted. Simple and direct, melancholic lost love. A beauty of a song.

Thanks, I do have this on original vinyl, but wanted to hear it quickly. I got this record for cheap because by the mid-'70s, this whole sound/scene was dated and forgotten, it seemed. I discovered this great song on my own, liking its production values, the sad story, good vocal(s). Sophisticated soul, indeed! Greetings from France via the USA.
