Definitely forms part to "François'" delicious string of killer tracks; along with the ethereal synth beauty that is "Voyage voyage" plus "Qui sommes nous?" and "John". Also worth checking are songs "Elle est comme les étoiles" and "Tombée d'une montagne" (the latter audibly follows a certain 1987-era Mylene Farmer with its undertone). "Dis Porquoi" in itself is almost a slight rewrite of Niagara's "L'amour a la Plage", but manages to get away on its own.The remaining material is a pleasant listen but altogether more stumbles and falls than it actually delivers - preventing "François" from being a landmark album that it should have been.While the main problem may be a choice of weaker songs to fill the whole of an album, Desireless actually didn't have a properly defined identity here. You can sense the personality, but it is far too overshadowed with superficial, trendy attempts at being dark, enigmatic, extravagant, naive, subversive, idealist and popular at the same time - the whole album sounds rather unconvincing as a result. "Oublie les, oublie", "Hari Om Ramakrishna", "Qui peut savoir", "Animal" and "Les Commencements" do posses the charm but lack the strength in both - idea and delivery, sounding like mediocre, dated Eurosong numbers, even for the 80s electro-pop standards.
